iv Annual Report of the Coimcil of Exeter on the Very Reverend Marcus Knight and of the conferment of the Honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity by the University of Exeter on the Reverend Professor Gordon Dunstan and of the election of the Dean of Westminster as an Honorary Freeman of the City of Westminster The Council learned with satisfaction that Professor Κ Nash had accepted appointment as Assistant Principal in succession to Professor D'Silva The Reverend Professor Parrinder and the Very Reverend Nott were elected members of Council in November The Associates of King's College elected Dr Mellows ll ph to be member of Council in place of Mr Faultless The staff of the Theological Department elected the Reverend Kingsbury Chaplain of King's College to be member of Council in place of Miss Marshall whose term of office had expired The Council nominated as student members of the Theo- logical Committee for 1973-74 Mr Η Williams and Miss Perdu The Council learned with regret of the resignation from Council of the Reverend Professor Tasker and Dr Cartwright and directed that letters of appreciation and good wishes should be sent to both these gentlemen who had served the Council over long period The Council appointed the Reverend Cutt Minor Canon of St Paul's to give part-time teaching assistance in the Faculty and Theological Department from October 1st 1973 in the field of Christian Doctrine On the occasion of the retirement of the Bishop of London the Council adopted the following minute 'Members of the Council and of the Theological Committee have learned with great regret that their Chairman Dr Robert Stopford has tendered his resignation as Bishop of London and that this will be the last occasion on which he will preside over their deliberations 'The Bishop of London is ex-officio Deputy Chairman of the Council of King's College and since his translation from Peter- borough in 1961 Dr Stopford has been invariably attentive to this one of his many duties The last twelve years have seen great changes for the Church and in particular for theological colleges and the training of ordinands
