liv Annual Report of the Delegacy In the Graduate Certificate Examination six students gained Distinction in Theory and four in Practice Two failed in Theory and one in Practice The Academic Diploma and higher degree figures are for King's College registrations they amount to minority of those actually tutored intercollegiately by the Faculty Faculty Notes The course of lectures inaugurated in session 1969-70 by invited experts for Ed students in the Colleges of Education in the London studying History of Education as an option was continued with as last year 16 lecture-plus-seminar periods in the Michaelmas and Lent Terms The annual dramatic production of the Education Society given in the New Large Theatre for three performances in February was Romanoff and Juliet by Peter Ustinov The Comparative Research Unit directed by Dr King continued its field surveys by administering some 15 000 questionnaires to principals teachers and students in an average of five upper-secondary schools in each of three centres in Sweden France and Italy and in the city of Hamburg Interviews with teachers and students were also arranged The research material is now being analysed and prepared for computer handling wherever possible The researchers had inter- views at the Ministries of Education in Rome and Paris at the National Board of Education in Stockholm and at the City Board of Education in Hamburg They also took part in conference at the UNESCO Institute of Education in Hamburg In England they completed thorough survey of the secondary colleges at Southampton and made arrangements for remaining fieldwork The Unit has been visited by overseas officials scholars and researchers throughout the year In the Spring of 1972 an Interim Report was published which has been distri- buted on request to many countries The work of the Mobile Recording Unit directed by Mr John Muir and Mr Ian Harris continued to expand serving other parts of the College as well as the Faculty of Education The position of the Manager Mr Robinson and of the Technician Mr Yussuf Fulat has now been stabilised The Faculty has made plans for further three-day residential seminars in university teaching tech- niques at St Mary's College Strawberry Hill for King's College lecturers using the for televising short lectures by those
