Annual Report of the Delegacy xxxiii the College Library in the liturgical field About half the titles will be new to King's while of the remainder number will provide much needed duplicate copies 11 The Library was again grateful for the large number of books periodicals and pamphlets received as gifts during the session total of 754 volumes and 374 pamphlets including 82 volumes and 285 parts of periodicals was received from 292 donors bringing the acces- sions for the session up to 10 766 volumes and 616 pamphlets or parts of periodicals It is always invidious to single out particular benefactions for individual mention but reference must be made to the bequest of 113 volumes of English literature by Dr Doubleday and to the gifts from the British Institute in Portugal of large collection of volumes and parts of 14 periodicals including an almost complete set of Biblos and substantial run of Broteria from the Institute of South- East European Studies of the Rumanian Academy of Social and Political Science of all available back volumes and parts of the Revue des etudes sud-est europeennes for the Burrows library from the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sciences of 106 volumes including the Threskeutike kai ethike enkuklopaideia in 12 volumes also for the Burrows library from Mr Mavrogordato of some 20 volumes of modern Greek from the collection of his father the late Professor John Mavrogordato of Oxford from the Italian author Mr Carlo Maria Franzero of set of his published works which he presented to the Dean in the presence of the Italian Ambassador at sherry party given in his honour in February 1972 and towards the end of the long vacation of copy of the facsimile edition of the New Testament section of Codex Vaticanus Graecus 1209 Codex specially printed for Pope Paul in 1965 and handed by His Holiness to the Reverend Hickling on the occasion of an audience of party of theological students from King's under his leadership Outside readers 12 total of 155 persons were reported to the Library Committee during the session as having been newly admitted to use the College Library as outside readers Exhibition 13 An exhibiton was mounted in the Library during the early summer to mark the centenary of the death of the Reverend Professor
