98 Studentships Scholarships Exhibitions Bursaries and Prizes INGLIS STUDENTSHIP Founded in 1857 by George Monckton of Somerford Hall Penkridge and others in memory of the Right Honourable Sir Robert Harry Inglis Baronet The regulations were revised in 1911 and again in 1923 Two Studentships are offered annually one in English one in History and are open to full-time students of the University of London King's College who shall have completed at least six College terms The value of the Studentship will be £85 together with free tuition for one session but the emolument will be increased up to maximum of £100 when- ever the finances of the fund permit The Studentships will be awarded on the results of the Honours examination of the University of London in English and History on the recommendations of the Heads of the Departments of English and History The student will be required to pursue full-time course of study at King's College for the degree or Ph degree in English or History respectively and to give some assistance in teaching in the Department of English or of History The Student will enter upon his Studentship in the session following that in which he has completed his course in accordance with University regulations Payment for the Studentship will be made in three equal instalments at the beginning of each term subject to the receipt at the end of each term of satisfactory certificate of attendance and progress from the Head of the Depart- ment in which the student is studying TUTORIAL STUDENTSHIPS for Regulations see page 183 WOOLDRIDGE MEMORIAL AWARDS for Regulations see page 196 Medals and Prizes Prizes in Arts open to all Full-time Students of the College CARTER MEDAL AND PRIZE FOR ENGLISH VERSE This Prize was founded in 1879 under the will of George Redsull Carter The Prize consists of medal and books to total value of £10
