188 Studentships Scholarships Exhibitions Bursaries and Prizes Postgraduate Awards CLEAVE COCKERILL POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP Founded in 1937 under the will of Alice Mary Cockerill in memory of her brother Thomas Cleave Cockerill The Scholarship is of the value of £320 year and may be awarded by the Council to candidate for Holy Orders in the Church of England who wishes to proceed to higher degree in Theology Preference will be given to graduates of King's College Medals and Prizes Prizes open to all Full-time Students of the College BARRY PRIZES The Barry Prizes in Divinity were founded by the friends and former pupils of the Right Rev Alfred Barry formerly Principal of King's College Prizes are now offered in the Faculties of Theology Arts Laws Natural Science Medical Science Engineering and Music These Prizes are administered by the Council and the regulations at present in force are the following Each Prize consists of books to the value of £3 50 The Prize in the Faculty of Theology is open to all regular students and is given to the student who passes with most distinction in the examination in the Prayer-book at the close of the Easter term In the Faculties of Arts Laws Natural Science Medical Science Engineering and Music five prizes will be offered annually to all regular students in their first or second years who have attended satisfactorily the general theological lectures open to all students of the College and who in the opinion of the Dean of King's College have obtained the best results in the examination on those lectures No student may receive this Prize second time except in the case of student who has obtained it before joining the Theological Department Such student may afterwards obtain it in that Department LEATHES PRIZES The Leathes Prizes were founded by Phihp Hammersley Leathes of Union Row Peckham Surrey in 1834 They are administered by the Council
