Library Facilities Catalogues The main author catalogue in room 101 of the New Library contains entries for all books and periodicals in the College Library usually under the name of the author or the title of the periodical but in the case of the publications of government institutions and learned societies often under the name of the issuing body Additional entries are usually given for the names of joint authors editors and authors of publications issued by government institutions and learned societies The main subject catalogue in room 101 of the New Library con- tains entries arranged according to the scheme of classification used in the Library for all books and periodicals in the working collections in all subjects other than the sciences The science subject catalogue is housed in room 533 of the New Library The shelf-mark or book number is given on each entry in the catalogues prefixed by the name of the subject library or special collection in which it is shelved Application should be made to the Library staff for books in special collection or in part of the Library to which the reader does not have access Subject Libraries Arts The English German Italian Palaeography Portuguese and Spanish libraries together with collection of books on comparative philology and general literature are accommodated in room 201 of the New Library and the History Philosophy and War Studies libraries in room 301 The Enk Classical Library and the Burrows Library of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies are housed on the gallery of the main reading room of the Old Library The French library is accommodated in the departmental area in rooms 10 and 17 SWB with an ancillary collection in room SWB Education The Education library is shelved in the main reading room of the Old Library Theology The Theology and Ecclesiastical History libraries are housed in the The French library is open from 30 until on Mondays to Fridays in term at other times readers should apply at one of the main Library desks for books to be fetched for their
