lii Annual Report of the Delegacy lectures at the University of Nairobi and with Mr Orchard another postgraduate student conducted seminar at the University of Sussex they also presented paper at the British Association meeting at Swansea Professor Pugh gave lecture at Northampton conducted postgraduate seminars at the University of Southampton and at the School of Oriental and African Studies Dr Morgan lectured in summer school at the University of Edmonton Mr Lawrence gave seminars at the University of Canterbury New Zealand and lectures at Cambridge Derby and Hertford Dr Yates presented paper at the Anglo-Polish Geographical Seminar Mr Armstrong postgraduate student presented paper at the British Geomorphological Research Group meeting at Cambridge Professor Pugh assumed responsibility for the listing of sites of special scientific interest for the British Geomorphological Research Group and made first submission of lists to the Nature Conservancy Dr Κ Rosing contributed to papers at the SYMAP Conference and acted as editor of the Proceedings He also acted as computergraphic consultant to the University of Rotterdam and other institutions Dr Maureen Jones continued to direct the East Africa Rainfall Project for the contract with the Road Research Laboratory Mr Sumner and Mr Orchard supervised the project work in Uganda Kenya and Tanzania for six months During the latter part of the year the department had the benefit of the services under an Inter-University Council Fellowship of Professor Davics formerly of the University of Zambia FACULTY OF EDUCATION Number of Students Graduate Certificate in Education Academic Diploma in Education by Examination Phil Ph In the Graduate Certificate Examination 11 students gained distinction in theory and in the practical Six failed in theory none in the practical The Academic Diploma and higher degree figures are for King's College registrations they amount to minority of those actually tutored intercollegiately by the Faculty
