142 Faculties and Courses of Study St George's Hospital Medical School Hyde Park Corner London SW1 Westminster Medical School Horseferry Road London SW1 Unsuccessful candidates at present are required to attend the College for further three months of study before being allowed to resit the examination Failure at the second attempt requires withdrawal from the College In future there will be second examinations held at six monthly intervals and candidates will normally be allowed only two attempts at this examination second course The course of study for the second examination for the degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery normally extends over three terms The subjects studied are Anatomy Physiology and Biochemistry and particularly the aspects of these subjects relevant to Dentistry Students successful at the examination held after three terms proceed for their clinical training to King's College Hospital Dental School Denmark Hill London SE5 Unsuccessful students are allowed second attempt after period of six months If they fail at this time they are required to withdraw from the College intercalated sc courses These have already been mentioned Students who develop particular interest in Biochemistry Pharmacology or Physiology during the second course can apply to take an additional course leading to the Sc degree in the University of London This course lasts four terms and is closely integrated with those run in the School of Biological Sciences so that in the final three terms students are afforded wide range of courses from which they can choose those of particular interest It is usual for students to proceed to their clinical training in medicine after finishing this course but some places for postgraduate research and study are available at King's College
