Faculties and Courses of Study 119 Greek and Theology passes at Advanced level in Greek and one other subject Latin and Spanish passes at Advanced level in Latin and Spanish Latin and Theology passes at Advanced level in Latin and one other subject Mathematics and Philosophy good passes at Advanced level in Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics Other Advanced level Mathematics subjects will be considered Philosophy and Spanish passes at Advanced level in Spanish and one other subject Philosophy and Theology no course requirements pass in Latin or Greek to Ordinary level is desirable Portuguese and Spanish passes at Advanced level in Spanish and one other subject preferably second Romance language or English are required together with an Ordinary level pass in Latin Theology and Music passes at Advanced level in Music and one other subject pass at Ordinary level in Latin or Greek is desirable SUBSIDIARY COURSES If the subsidiary subject read is French German or Latin an Advanced level pass in the subject concerned is required for English History and Spanish an Ordinary level pass will be sufficient An applicant may be admitted to read Music or Portuguese as subsidiary subject without having studied it previously but in the case of Portuguese preference will be given to candidates having some knowledge of Portuguese grammar and in the case of Music Ordinary level Music would be an advantage and background knowledge essential Students reading Geography may if permitted by the Professor of Geography apply to read subsidiary Anthropology Economics Sociology or Statistics at the London School of Economics Postgraduate Courses HIGHER DEGREES AND DIPLOMAS Internal and external graduates of the University of London and gradu- ates of other universities are admitted to courses leading to the degree
