Annual Report of the Delegacy lxxix Dr Cox appeared on Television in programme on Continental Drift Dr Cox lectured on malaria at Bedford College and at Glasgow University read paper on the taxonomic implications of immunity at the third international congress of protozoology at Leningrad While in Russia he visited the Institute of Cytology in Leningrad and the Tropical Medicine Institute in Moscow He also chaired session on immunity to parasites at the British Society for Parasitology Spring Meeting at Aberdeen Dr Pye gave papers to the eleventh international ethological conference at Rennes on 'Field observation of bats by ultrasonic instruments' with laboratory and field demonstrations the Bat Group of the Mammal Society of Great Britain the Neurobiology Discussion Group of the Brain Research Association and the second international conference on bat studies at Amsterdam He also chaired the session on echolocation He delivered lectures to the Standard Radio Engineer- ing Society of Standard Telephones and Cables and the Zoology Society at Bedford College and gave seminars to the Department of Zoology Queen Mary College the Department of Zoology Oxford University and the Department of Biology Queen Elizabeth College Mr Darwin was on leave of absence for the Lent Term and part of the Easter Term as Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Zoology at the University of Ibadan Nigeria under the VISTA scheme of the Ministry of Overseas Development He gave two undergraduate courses in comparative physiology continued his research on the neuro- physiology of tropical Arctiid moths and read paper on that subject to the Biological Sciences Colloquium of the University of Ibadan Dr Shirley Hawkins presented paper at the spring meeting of the British Society for Cell Biology Dr Healey was appointed to sub-committee of the Council of the British Ecological Society to consider the future of the Society he gave paper at the first meeting of the new Energetics and Production Biology Group Dr Kathleen Lyons was awarded grant from the Browne Fund of the Royal Society to cover expenses incurred in her research at the Marine Biological Station Plymouth She gave paper to the spring meeting of the British Society for Parasitology and chaired session at the meeting Dr Stoddart gave paper at symposium of the Zoological Society of London
