lxxii Annual Report of the Delegacy of industrial chemistry was introduced for third-year students and was given by five distinguished industrial chemists four of whom were former students of the department Assistance in undergraduate teaching was again provided by Dr Truter Agricultural Re- search Council in crystallography Professor Mason's appoint- ment was fixed for October 1970 but he gave lectures in physical chemistry and on the history of chemistry Professor Hey gave lecture at the University of Salford Professor Gold gave course of lectures at the University of Califor- nia Irvine where he spent one term as Visiting Professor and also lectured at other divisions of the University of California He gave two lectures at the University of Rome and presented paper at the international conference on reaction mechanisms in solution organ- ised by the Chemical Society and held at the University of Canterbury in Kent Dr Robertson gave paper at meeting of the Field Emission Discussion Group at the University of Cambridge and was Chairman of the meeting of this Group held at the London Research Station of the Gas Council He also lectured to the Gas Council Basic Research Group and contributed to meeting of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry Commission held at the University of Tubingen He gave course of six lectures on mass spectrometry at Sir John Cass College and took part in meeting of the Molecular Beam Kinetics Group of the Chemical Society held at the University College London Dr Satchell lectured at the University of Keele and contributed to symposium on First Year Teaching Methods held at Queen Mary College Dr Davies gave lectures at the Queen's University Belfast at the University of Bologna and at the Autumn Meeting of the Chemical Society Dr Coe spent the year in the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Padua He presented papers at the annual conference of Italian Chemists held at Bressanone Dr Perkins gave lectures at the Universities of Nottingham Sheffield Warwick Bologna and Marseille at Royal Holloway College and at the Joint Anniversary Meeting of the Chemical Society and the Royal Institute of Chemistry held at Edin- burgh Dr Robinson lectured at research colloquium at Queen Mary College and presented papers at the thirteenth international coordination chemistry conference held at Cracow-Zakopane and at the third Inorganic Chimica Acta Symposium held at Venice Dr Hall gave lecture at the Ylide Symposium of the Chemical
