Annual Report of the Delegacy lxvii This was followed on the next day by seminar and dinner There was an excellent attendance at the lecture and much interest was shown in the seminar Dr France was elected an Honorary Lecturer in Physiology at University College for the session 1970-71 Both Dr Taylor and Dr France received substantial grants in aid of their research and Mr Murthy an Indian research student who was later appointed to post in the Indian Institute of Science at Delhi was most generously sup- ported by the Wellcome Foundation FACULTY OF MUSIC Number of Students Mus 18 Postgraduate Faculty Notes The main concern of Professor Thurston Dart during the session was the Faculty's move to its new quarters at 152 153 Strand and virtually all his other work had to be held in abeyance He gave no recitals or lectures but he took part in the international symposium on Couperin and Marchand held in Paris in October 1969 acting also as member of the jury for the international harpsichord competition held cur- rently He was re-elected Chairman of the Board of Studies in Music and continued as member of the Council of the Royal Musical Asso- ciation and of the Music Panel of the Arts Council of Great Britain Dr Milner lectured on 'The castrati in Italian church choirs from the 16th to 19th centuries' at Goldsmiths' College Dr Bent lectured on 'Twentieth-century music' at the 1970 summer school run by the American Institute for Foreign Study Mr Frank Dobbins gave paper entitled 'Doulce memoire sixteenth-century chanson' to the Royal Musical Association during its 1970 annual conference Mr Colin Timms Ph student in the Faculty was conductor of the University of London choir during the session and gave paper entitled 'Revisions in Steffani's Duets' to the Royal Musical Associa- tion during its annual conference Miss Lucy Duran third-year undergraduate in the Faculty gave paper on 'Cretan Folk-music' to the Royal Anthropological Institute in June 1970 The Faculty moved into its new quarters at 152 153 Strand in January
