1 Annual Report of the Delegacy particularly for practical classes In 1970 students for the first time graduated with Sc Joint Honours in Geography with Mathematics and in Geography with Geology This was also the first year in which degrees were taken under the course unit system by King's College students other colleges will present their first students in 1972 The Joint School with the London School of Economics continued to function well Joint field classes were held at Keele and Torbay classes for King's students only were held at Rogate number of undergraduates assisted with staff research project in Dorset and others assisted postgraduate research project in the Norwegian ice- field Members of the department continued to assist other institutions with examining Professor Pugh was External Examiner to the Uni- versity of Wales in Geography at Swansea and in Maritime Studies at ST Cardiff he was also External Examiner to the Univer- sity of Liverpool for the Sc on the Physical Geography of the Tropics and to Liverpool Regional College of Technology for the Sc in Nautical Studies Dr Ε Yates examined in Training Colleges for the University of London Dr Morgan was External Examiner for the University of Wales for Geography Sc Econ Swansea and for Education Ed Cardiff he was also Senior Examiner for the Advanced Level Board of the University of Oxford Members of staff have moderated papers and examined theses for the Universities of Hong Kong and Ceylon as well as for other British Universities Dr Yates Mr Morgan and Mr Lawrence conducted field classes for External students of the University of London at Keele and at Rogate and Dr Embleton organised field class at Llangollen for the Geologists' Association Members of staff provided refresher course at Stoke Mandeville for ILEA geo- graphy teachers Dr Brunsden and Mr Κ Rosing presented papers at the annual meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science at Exeter and gave brief radio and television accounts of their work Dr Brunsden also gave lectures at Bedford College Queen Mary College Goldsmiths' College and the University of Southampton Mr Rosing gave lectures at Harvard University and at the University of Minnesota and acted as consultant to the National Computer Centre and other bodies Miss Alice Coleman lectured at the Royal Geographical Society the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Landscape Research
