xxxvi Annual Report of the Delegacy Sir Henry Darlington and Major General Sir Ronald Campbell Penney were deposited by their families Further papers were added to those of General Sir Ian Hamilton Brigadier General Philip Howell and Field Marshal Sir William Robertson already in the Centre The Trustees were told of eight persons who had been admitted to read papers in the Centre and of two manuscripts in which use had been made of papers in the Centre which had been approved for publication Two new Senior Library Assistants were appointed at the beginning of the session to undertake descriptive cataloguing these appoint- ments represented major step forward in the reorganisation and rationalisation of the duties of the senior Library staff The Librarian represented the Standing Conference of National and University Libraries at the meeting in Moscow and Leningrad in September of the International Federation of Library Associations of which he was re-elected secretary of the university libraries sub-section for second period of three years He also served on selection boards for library posts for the Civil Service Commission and the Inter-University Council for Higher Education Overseas Mr Antony Grant attended the annual conference of the Society of Archivists The Librarian devoted much time to the deliberations of the Com- mittee on Library Resources set up in 1969 by the Senate and is mem- ber of number of its working parties The College submitted statement of evidence to the Committee based on replies to question- naires distributed to academic staff postgraduates and undergraduates The College Library participated in surveys of acquisitions procedures carried out on behalf of the Committee on Library Resources by the Library Management Research Unit at Cambridge University Library ROGATE FIELD CENTRE Report by the Warden The Field Centre was opened by the Principal of King's College on October 4th 1969 in the presence of 105 guests Displays of work were mounted by the Centre staff and by those who have had courses at Rogate The total number of student visitor-days at the Centre was 561 King's undergraduates 532 undergraduates from other colleges 091 King's postgraduates 109 postgraduates from other colleges 201 and other visitors including staff 628 The Warden Dr Coker gave lectures at Farnham and Guild-
