THE THEOLOGICAL DEPARTMENT of KING'S COLLEGE LONDON UNIVERSITY OF LONDON ANNUAL REPORT OF THE COUNCIL FOR THE SESSION 1969-70 presented to the COURT of the COLLEGE COUNCIL AND CORPORATION The Council has met three times in joint session with the Theological Committee The Council received with regret the news of the death of two Fellows of King's College the Reverend Croydon on April 29th 1970 and the Very Reverend Brown formerly Dean of Bocking on May 13th 1970 The Council expressed its deep gratitude to Sir Arthur Howard for all he had done for the entire College during his long term as Chairman of the Delegacy from 1950-69 Members of the Council heard with pleasure of the award of the London Doctorate of Divinity and of the Honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity of the University of St Andrews to Professor Ack- royd of an Honorary Doctorate of Science of the University of Wales to Professor Hey and of the election of Professor Dugmore as Fellow of the Royal Historical Society The Council expressed warm appreciation of the services to the College and Theological Department of Professor Maurice Wiles who had been appointed Regius Professor of Divinity in the Uni- versity of Oxford of Dr Morna Hooker who had been appointed University Lecturer at Oxford and of the Reverend David Martin who after four years of lively and effective ministry as Chaplain of
