Faculties and Courses of Study 113 selected from the approved list of subjects drawn up by the University and set out in the Regulations Relating to University Entrance Require- ments Course Requirements of King's College for Direct Entry to Degree Courses in Arts degree courses Classics passes at Advanced level in Latin and one other subject pass at Ordinary level in Greek English two passes at Advanced level one in English good Ad- vanced level qualification in major literary language classical or modern is an advantage but candidates with other good qualifications will be considered Passes in two foreign languages one of which must be classical at least at Ordinary level are required French two subjects at Advanced level will be required of which one must be French pass in Latin at least at Ordinary level is essential Geography pass at Advanced level in Geography and in one prefer- ably two other subjects Preference will be given to candidates having pass in Mathematics at least at Ordinary level German pass at Advanced level in German and in one other subject preference will be given to applicants having third subject at Ad- vanced level pass at least at Ordinary level in Latin or Greek is essential Greek passes at Advanced level in Greek and one other subject and pass at Ordinary level in Latin History passes at Advanced level in three subjects preferably including History are normally required in some cases applicants with two subjects are considered pass at least at Ordinary level in modern foreign language is essential and pass in classical language or second modern foreign language at least at Ordinary level is preferred Candidates will be expected to possess good reading knowledge of at least one language other than English Latin passes at Advanced level in Latin and one other subject and pass at Ordinary level in Greek
