General Information 85 in advance of the action which it is proposed to take in the absence of improvement in his academic standard All discretionary powers exercisable in relation to students who have failed to maintain the required academic standard including those who have failed University examinations shall be exercised by the Dean of the Faculty in consultation with the Head of Department and the Sub-Dean or in the case of the Faculty of Medical Science the Adviser of Studies or in the case of the Faculty of Theology by the Dean of the Faculty in consultation with the Dean of the College In no instance shall discretion be exercised adversely to the student without an opportunity having been given to him before final decision is taken to present either orally or in writing any relevant matter which he wishes to be taken into consideration decision to refuse re-admission to postgraduate student on the ground that he has not maintained the required academic standard shall be taken by the Dean of the Faculty after consultation with the Head of Department or in the case of the Faculty of Theology the Dean of the College and the student's supervisor and after con- sideration of any relevant matters which the student wishes to be taken into account DISCIPLINE RULES AND REGULATIONS The Principal is responsible for the maintenance of discipline among students of the College other than those of the Theological Department In any matter concerning discipline among women students he will always act in consultation with the Tutor to Women Students The Dean is responsible for the maintenance of discipline among theologi- cal students but he will act in concert with the Principal if questions arise which affect the discipline of other students or of the College as whole These responsibilities will be carried out in accordance with the provisions contained in the Procedure for the Trial of Offences Against College Rules' Conduct of Examinations Examinations are held in the College at suitable times during session as requested by each faculty Examination time-tables indicating the examinations to be held in each faculty are published in advance and include details of the rooms in which each examination will be held At all examinations held at the College each candidate's desk will be labelled with card bearing either his name or his University examination
