xxii Annual Report of the Delegacy Mr Edwards's contribution to the well-being of King's has been immeasurable Since the war he has seen the great expansion of the Science Faculty and his knowledge of its regulations and requirements its policy and its aims has been second to none His knowledge of individual students is unsurpassed His knowledge of the ethos of King's is equally profound Fellow of the College he has served on the Delegacy on the Pro- fessorial Board and on the innumerable committees and on the Com- mittee of Deans in particular his advice has invariably been of the greatest value Mr Edwards is essentially College man' His departure will leave gap that may in time be filled but never with the same individual qualities that he has brought to his position The Delegacy in expressing their thanks to Mr Edwards wish to pay tribute to one whose satisfaction has always been in the effective discharge of his duties and who in doing so has earned the gratitude of all his students and colleagues To him and to Mrs Edwards they express the hope that they may enjoy many years of happy retirement Mr Tidnam Mr Tidnam joined the staff of the College in 1919 He leaves after fifty years' service on July 31st 1969 It is rare in the records of the College to find that one man has served the insti- tution for half century without break In Mr Tidnam's case there has not only been service there has been devotion Generations of staff and of students knew him and remember him with affection and regard and the Delegacy recognised his great contribution to the well-being of the society by electing him to the highest honour Fellow- ship of the College this year He has seen many changes at College and without doubt his influence has always made for lack of friction in such changes The Delegacy place on record their most sincere appreciation of his lifelong dedication to the interests of the College and extend to him and Mrs Tidnam every good wish for many years of happy and well- deserved retirement Mr Campbell On July 31st 1969 Mr Campbell is retiring as Assistant Registrar He joined the staff of the College in 1922 and for the twenty-three years since the war has been attached to the Registration Department
