160 Library Facilities as Ecclesiastical History Imperial History Modern Greek Portuguese and Brazilian literature and history Spanish including Latin- American Literature Theology and War Studies for the teaching of which King's College has special responsibility within the University During the course of the session 1970-71 the Library will occupy part of new building and most subject libraries will then be con- centrated there and in the present General Library area In the mean- time the main catalogues together with collection of bibliographical and other reference works and selection of dictionaries and also the libraries in certain subjects are housed in the General Library while the libraries in other subjects remain elsewhere in the College usually in close proximity to the faculties and departments they serve The disposition of the various parts of the Library and their hours of opening as set out below are therefore subject to amendment during the course of the session Hours of Opening The Library is open in term from 30 until 45 on Mondays to Thursdays until 15 on Fridays and until 12 45 on Saturdays During the Christmas and Easter vacations it is open from 30 until 45 on Mondays to Fridays and until 12 noon on Saturdays during the long vacation it is open from 30 until 30 on Mondays to Fridays but remains closed on Saturdays The hours of opening of the outlying subject libraries vary and as rule they are closed to readers in vacation In number of cases access to the outlying libraries is granted to key holders only but any reader may request books from such libraries to be made available for use in the General Library The Library is closed on public holidays and at such other times as the College buildings are closed Catalogues The main author catalogue contains entries for all books and periodicals in the College Library usually under the name of the author or the title of the periodical but in the case of the publications of govern- ment institutions and learned societies often under the name of the issuing body Additional entries are usually given for the names of joint authors editors and authors of publications issued by govern- ment institutions and learned societies
