General Information The Lodgings Officer prefers to see students during term time but from July to October they should apply by post when every effort will be made to provide an address at which there is suitable vacancy Interview hours are between 10 30 and noon and from 30 to Monday to Friday It is necessary to make an appointment well in advance Lillian Penson Hall Warden McDonnell sc econ ph Lillian Penson Hall situated in Talbot Square W2 is hostel for postgradu- ate men and women only Single and double rooms each with private bathroom telephone extension and central heating also few flats for married couples without children Meals available as required Further particulars available upon application Refectories These are situated at the southern end of the main building and are available to staff and student members of the College They normally provide light refreshments luncheons and teas from 30 to 30 on weekdays in term time There is some curtailment of the service during vacations Student Health College Medical Officer Charles sc ch All students living in College hall of residence are required to register with the medical officer appointed to the hall and all students living in lodgings or in flats should register with local general practitioner The following College facilities are available to students State Registered Nurse Mrs Whittle is on duty each weekday in the Chesham 1st Floor from 10 to She will see any student of the College who has minor ailments or injuries or who wants advice If the nurse considers it necessary she will of course advise students to see the medical practitioner with whom they are registered Two members of the Medical Faculty in the College are appointed by the College as medical advisers In case of serious accident or sudden serious illness staff or students should consult the College Medical Officer Psychiatric treatment is available through the College medical advisers but students should first see either the Sub-Dean of their faculty or the Tutor to Women Students or the Chaplain Emergency dental treatment without prior appointment may be obtained at the Dental Department of King's College Hospital
