xiv Annual Report of the Council Corporation General Fund Account Income was received from the usual sources and after meeting expenses the account showed surplus of £3 352 which has been transferred to the Special Reserve Fund King's College Hostel During 1967-68 vacation lettings brought in £2 596 compared with £3 435 last year The total income was £17 857 compared with £18 397 in 1966-67 Expenditure was £22 580 compared with £16 619 last year During the year there was an exceptionally heavy item of renewing the roof repairing of chimneys and repointing of brickwork There was also unusually high expenditure on Furniture and Equipment The year's working showed deficit of £4 723 compared with surplus of j£1 778 in 1966-67 The net credit balance carried forward on July 31st 1968 was £382 King's College at St Boniface College Warminster Income was £16 601 compared with £20 125 last year when there were more residents Expenditure for 1967-68 was £20 189 compared with £17 894 last year Improvements to the drive work on the boilerhouse and decorations in the kitchen area were carried out during the year and wages of domestic and maintenance staff increased The result of the year's working was deficit of £3 588 compared with surplus of £2 211 last year The debit balance carried forward on July 31st 1968 was £2 603
