208 Studentships Scholarships Exhibitions Bursaries and Prizes The prize will be awarded to the student adjudged to be the best candidate in the year successfully completing the postgraduate course in powder tech- nology The prize which may take the form of cash or books and instruments is of the value of £20 and additionally the Company presents copy of the 'Merck Index' worth about £10 The prize will be awarded on the recommendation of the Professor of Powder Technology JOHN ORIEL PRIZE IN INTERNAL COM- BUSTION ENGINEERING This prize to the value of approximately £25 may be awarded annually at the discretion of the examiners to the student who has most distinguished himself in the course of study during the year INSTITUTION OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS PRIZE This Prize was established in 1968 by the Institution of Electrical Engineers The award will be made annually by the Institution of Electrical Engineers on the nomination of the College and will be known as the Prize it will consist of certificate and cheque to the value of £50 The Prize will be awarded to an Electrical Engineering student who shall have achieved First or Upper Second Class Honours and who shall have dis- tinguished himself by his creative activities in the corporate student life of the Faculty of Engineering The award will be subject to the following additional Regulations prescribed by the LEE In exceptional circumstances when there are two candidates of comparable merit during any one year the Prize may be divided equally between both candidates In order that each Prize is awarded to the best possible candidate no restric- tion regarding age sex nationality or membership of the Institution will be made university should not make nomination if they consider that candidate of sufficient merit is not available On receipt of each university nomination the cheque will be forwarded directly to the prize winner The certificate will be presented if possible on suitable occasion arranged between the Local Centre of the Institution concerned and the university
