General Information 87 HALLS OF RESIDENCE King's College Hostel Vincent Square Westminster SWi This hostel is for men members of the Theological Faculty only In the four-year course for ordinands at King's College the third year must be spent in residence at the Hostel and the fourth year at the college at Warminster which was opened in July 1948 The Hostel in Vincent Square was built in 1913 and final wing with Chapel and Library was added in 1929 In addition to rooms for third-year students there is certain number of rooms available each year for junior members of the Faculty Provision is made for full board on Saturdays and Sundays and for breakfast tea and dinner on other days The inclusive charge for single room is £210 session payable in three terminal instalments For shared room the charge is £200 session For conditions of entry regulations etc application should be made to the Dean King's College Strand WC2 King's College Hall Warden Duggan ph The new extensions to King's College Hall made possible by the generosity of an anonymous benefactor were opened for the first time in October 1966 The Hall now comprising the old Platanes building and two large new blocks provides places for 250 men students of King's College accommodated for the most part in single study-bedrooms though places are also available in shared rooms at reduced fee for small number of residents The fee for full session of 30 weeks is £200 for single study-bedroom or £180 for shared room and all fees are payable at the College Office in advance by equal terminal instalments Vacation residence is available for research students students from overseas clinical students at King's College Hospital and students in other approved categories and is charged at proportionate weekly rate The fees include breakfast and dinner on weekdays and breakfast lunch and tea at weekends All study-bedrooms are provided with wash-basins with hot and cold water and all public rooms are centrally heated The Hall stands in pleasant grounds of four acres with lawns and gardens on the higher part of Denmark Hill and can be reached from the College by bus or train in about 30 minutes King's College Hospital is within walking distance of the Hall and places are available in Hall for students of the Hospital The Hall is well provided with common rooms and other social amenities as well as libraries or quiet rooms for study there are principal and supplementary common rooms television rooms rooms for billiards table-tennis and music two squash courts and two hard tennis courts in the gardens Halliday Hall Warden Danielian sc ph Built in 1934 as an hotel and acquired by the College after the war this hall of residence for men was opened in October 1950 At present 133 students from all Faculties at King's can be accommodated
