Ivi Annual Report of the Delegacy First Degrees Honours 2nd Class Upper Division 2nd Class Lower Division 3rd Class Higher Degree Ph King's College and Queen Mary College Mrs Anne Hogg 'The search for identity in post-Revolutionary Mexican writ- ing Departmental Notes In January Professor Jones gave lecture on aspects of seventeenth- century Spanish drama at the London University Spaniish Depart- ments' annual Teachers' Course During the session he gave course of twenty-five lectures at Birkbeck College In May he wished first- year Spanish students spending the term at the Universitie of Madrid and Salamanca Dr Jean Franco gave public lecture on 'Ruben Dario anid the prob- lem of evil' at the London Institute for Latin Americani Studies in November and another on 'Two Latin American novels' at the University of Southampton in February During the session she gave course of twenty-five lectures at Birkbeck College She was elected Vice-Chairman of the Society for Latin American Studies In colla- boration with Mr Barry Cole she presented translations of the poetry of Ruben Dario at the Instituto de Espana London in co mmemora- tion of the centenary of Dario's birth In August and September she visited the Argentine Mexico and the United States for research purposes Mr Nadal who was on leave-of-absence for part of the session gave lectures on Luis Cernuda and on some unpublished works of Garcia Lorca left him by the poet at the Universities of Harvard Pittsburgh Mexico and San Juan de Puerto Rico and on his return to the Spanish Societies of the Universities of Oxford and Newcastle In collaboration with Professor Brugmans and under the auspices of the College of Europe he edited Liber Amicorum in honour of Don Salvador de Madariaga's 80th birthday Mr Sage gave talks and conducted seminars at the Spanish Teachers' Course in January
