Annual Report of the Delegacy xxv fellows The following were appointed Fellows of the College Mr Baird Chief Education Officer for Surrey since 1959 He was at King's College from 1930 to 1935 obtaining the Honours degree in French and the Teacher's Diploma and was President of the Union Society from 1934 to 1935 He has been member of the Delegacy since 1965 Professor Boxer Camoens Professor of Portuguese 1947-51 and 1953-67 Professor Dame Honor Fell Director of the Strangeways Research Laboratory Cambridge since 1929 Royal Society Re- search Professor Dame Honor has been for many years Senior Bio- logical Advisor to the Medical Research Council Biophysics Unit and to the Biophysics Department Dr Hare Master of Birkbeck College former student in the King's College Geography department Dr Hare was Professor of Geography here from 1964 to 1966 From 1950 to 1964 he was on the staff of the Geography Department of McGill University where he was Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science from 1962 until he left to come to King's distinctions and appointments gained by past and present members of the college The Principal Dr Noble was made Knight Bachelor in the New Year Honours List The Senate of the University of London appointed him as one of the four additional representatives of the University on the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals for the period October 1st 1967 to July 31st 1968 Past and Present Staff Professor Armstrong Lecturer in English from 1948 until he became Professor of English at the Univer- sity of Hull in 1965 was appointed to the Chair of English at West- field College London Dr Beattie formerly Reader in the Chemistry department was appointed Professor of Chemistry at the University of Southampton Dr Bird Assistant Lecturer and then Lecturer 1954-60 was appointed Professor of Geography at the University of Southampton Professor Cadogan former student and member of staff of the Chemistry department was awarded the Corday Morgan Medal and Prize by the Chemical Society
