Studentships Scholarships Exhibitions Bursaries and Prizes 201 Candidates must have passed in at least two subjects in the examinations at King's College or the associated Hospital Medical School held in the March or summer of the calendar year in which they enter for Prize No one will be eligible to compete for the Prize who does not qualify in medical subjects Candidates must produce certificates of good conduct ii of regular attendance at Divinity lectures and of having passed the annual examination in Divinity during his course at the College Candidates must submit not later than October 31st an Essay of 000 to 000 words on some theological subject comprised within the terms of the Trust which will be prescribed one year in advance The subject for 1968 may be any one of the following Soul and body Vitalism and religion The problem of suffering Intending candidates are advised to ask for an interview with the Dean of King's College London before beginning an essay in order that they may receive some direction ALFRED HUGHES MEMORIAL PRIZE This Prize was founded in 1902 by his friends and colleagues in memory of Alfred William Hughes Professor of Anatomy from 1897 to 1900 The Prize consists of instruments or books of value of about £5 The Prize will be awarded annually to the full-time student who during the second year of study in Anatomy shall have most distinguished himself in that subject at the class examinations HARE PRIZE The Prize was founded in 1917 by George Hare in memory of his son Stanley Grant Hare former student of the Medical Science Faculty who fell at the head of his platoon in the charge against the Turks at Gaza April 1917 The Prize consists of books or instruments to the value of £2 105 The Prize will be awarded annually on the joint recommendation of the Professors of Physiology Biochemistry and Pharmacology to student who has completed the 2nd examination INCHLEY PRIZE IN PHARMACOLOGY This Prize was founded in 1925 by Dr Orlando Inchley Head of the Depart- ment of Pharmacology The Prize consists of books or instruments to the value of £5 The Prize is open to all full-time medical students who within two years of passing the First Examination for Medical Degrees or the Pre-Medical
