Studentships Scholarships Exhibitions Bursaries and Prizes 189 If in any year in which the Prize is offered no award is made the interest thus accumulated may at the discretion of the Principal be added to the capital of the fund or may be applied to any of the following purposes to increase the value of the Prize or to provide second Prize to deserving candidate in subsequent year to provide assistance for the publication of any work on Medieval History submitted by former holder of the Prize To encourage research in Medieval History at King's College by any other means consistent with the conditions laid down in Clause If assistance is given for the publication of any original work such published work shall contain an acknowledgment that the work has been assisted from the Elizabeth Levett Fund of King's College London FAITHFULL PRIZE This Prize was founded in 1964 from funds made available under the will of Professor Edith Morley former student of the College and member of the Staff and Fellow of King's College for Women She held the Chair of English at the University of Reading from 1908 to 1940 Miss Faithfull was Vice-Principal of King's College London Ladies' Department from 1894 to 1907 and later became Headmistress of Cheltenham Ladies' College She helped in the foundation of Queen Elizabeth College formerly King's College of Household and Social Science and was made Fellow of King's College in 1904 She was the first President of the All-England Women's Hockey Association The Prize consists of books to the value of Ā£5 The Prize is open to full-time students in the Department of Enghsh It will be awarded annually to the student who in the opinion of the Head of the Department of Enghsh shall have most distinguished himself in modem literary subjects in the Honours examination held at the end of the Final year of study
