Studentships Scholarships Exhibitions Bursaries and Prizes 183 WOOLDRIDGE MEMORIAL AWARDS These bursaries were founded in 1967 from funds subscribed by past students and former colleagues in memory of Professor Wooldridge sc Professor of Geography at King's College London from 1947-63 Further funds were subscribed in 1968 by members of the 'Geoids Amateur Operatic Society' with which Professor Wooldridge founder member was closely associated for many years Normally the awards are made annually to students of the Joint School of Geography at King's College London and the London School of Economics and Political Science The awards will be of value to be determined annually The awards shall take the form of one or more bursaries for the encouragement of original field investiga- tions of geographical nature and one or more book prizes The awards will be made on the recommendation of the Heads of the Departments of Geography at King's College London and the London School of Economics and Political Science The funds are administered by the De- legacy of University of London King's College which shall have power at its own discretion and with the agreement of the Heads of the Departments of Geography at King's College and the London School of Economics to modify the terms of the awards Postgraduate Awards CROMPTON SCHOLARSHIP Founded in 1934 under the will of Ada Richardson Crompton in memory of her father James Roger Crompton and of her brother Percy Richardson Crompton The object of these Scholarships is to enable women students of French Language and Literature to attend course of study at university in France or Belgium One or two Scholarships will be offered annually to women students who are or have been full-time students of University of London King's College and have completed the course for the Honours degree in French of the University of London or have been registered as research students in the Department of French of University of London King's College for not less than one academic year Each Scholarship is of the value of Ā£500 and is normally tenable for one year but may be renewed for further period of one year at the discretion of the Delegacy
