Studentships Scholarships Exhibitions Bursaries and Prizes 173 ST BONIFACE MISSIONARY COLLEGE BURSARY One annual bursary of the value of £100 has been made available by the Council of St Boniface College Warminster as trustees of the endowments of the former Missionary College which closed in 1941 In establishing this bursary the Council of King's College expresses its desire to perpetuate in partnership with the Council of St Boniface College the intentions of the founder of the Missionary College the Reverend Sir James Erasmus Phillips Bart This bursary will be awarded in the first instance to student from an Anglican diocese overseas who enters King's College to read for the or the combined course at London and Warminster In certain circumstances bursary may be awarded to candidate from diocese in the United Kingdom who intends to serve in an overseas diocese Each award will be continued for the four years of student's course provided his progress is satisfactory OTHER BURSARIES number of Bursaries are given through the under the will of the late Mr Richards to assist students in special need in their final year in residence at Warminster In 1943 under the will of the late Reverend Macrae Vicar of St Olave's Woodberry Down London N4 the Council received the sum of £1 800 for providing three Bursaries to be called Macrae Bursaries for the assistance of students of slender means intending to take Holy Orders in the Church of England THE MOORE SCHOLARSHIP The Scholarship was established in 1965 under the will of Mrs Evelyn Maud Bosworth Moore Fellow of King's College who left the sum of £2 000 to the College for the purpose of founding Scholarship in Theology for the benefit of male students intending to take Holy Orders in the Church of England who are in need of financial assistance The Scholarship will be to the value of £85 THE POLLARD SCHOLARSHIP The Scholarship was established in 1965 under the will of the Reverend Harry Postlethwaite Pollard of Burystead Wilshamstead Bedford who bequeathed £2 714 to the Corporation of King's College London to form an endowment fund of which the income shall be paid to or applied at the discretion of the Dean of King's College London for the benefit of Theological student who shall be preparing for Holy Orders to relieve his financial needs either by grant for the purchase of books or by such other means as shall be judged suitable by the said Dean of King's College The Scholarship will be of value to be determined annually income £115
