156 Library Facilities Laws The Laws library is situated in rooms 23 and 24A of the main building and its hours of opening are similar to those of the General Library Periodicals Law Reports and certain other books are for reference only Science The General Science library including most general scientific periodicals is housed in the General Library but the libraries in indivi- dual scientific subjects are housed in the corresponding departments The Chemistry and Physics Research libraries are normally restricted to postgraduate students and special rules apply to borrowing from these libraries undergraduates can use the Physics Honours library which is open from 10 to 30 on weekdays The Geography and Mathematics libraries are accessible only to keyholders normally restricted to postgraduates and undergraduates reading these subjects as main subjects The Botany library at 68 Half Moon Lane SE24 and the Geology Palaeontology and Zoology libraries are available to students in these subjects at all times when the corresponding depart- ments are open The Biophysics library at 26-29 Drury Lane WC2 is open on Mondays to Fridays from 30 until and from until 30 in term and until 30 in vacation it remains open additionally between and on Thursdays in term and postgraduates may be issued with keys to permit their use of this library in the evenings and on Saturdays Medical Books for medical students are shelved in the General Science library housed in the General Library certain standard text-books in constant demand must be obtained against signature from the Library staff Research material in medical subjects is shelved in the Anatomy and Physiology library in the department of Anatomy except that books in Pharmacology are housed in that department access is normally limited to postgraduates but students reading for the degree of Sc in Physiology may use the Anatomy and Physiology library Engineering The Engineering library containing books in Civil Electrical and Mechanical Engineering is housed in room Q108 and is open from 30 until 30 on weekdays Keys to these subject libraries are issued to those students entitled to use them against deposit of 2s 6d which is returnable when the key is surrendered
