Faculties and Courses of Study CONDITIONS OF ENTRY Before admission to the degree course student must Satisfy the University general requirements The procedure to be followed is in the General Information section of the Calendar page 71 ii Satisfy the additional requirements for direct entry to specific course For direct entry to the Second Medical or Second Dental course these course requirements are the possession of General Certificate of Education which includes passes in Chemistry Physics and Biology or Zoology all three at Advanced level Graduates of other universities persons holding professional qualifications and those who qualify under alternative regulations see Regulations for Degrees in the Faculty of Medical Science of the University of London may be eligible for certain exemptions Enquiries should be made direct to the University Entrance Re- quirements Department University of London Senate House WC1 iii Appear for interview by appointed representatives of the College and the appropriate Hospital Medical School Postgraduate Courses Internal and external graduates of the University of London and gradu- ates of other universities are admitted to courses leading to the degrees of Phil or Ph in Biochemistry Pharmacology or Physiology The degree of Sc is awarded not on thesis but on the merits of original published work not done under direction and no course is prescribed Facilities are offered in the various laboratories of the College to persons wishing to undertake research For details con- cerning the various higher degrees the University Regulations should be consulted Postgraduates wishing to undertake research in any of the four departments of the Medical Faculty should write to the Head of the Department concerned
