Faculties and Courses of Study 107 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY Applicants must satisfy the following sets of conditions University General Requirements and Special Course Requirements in the Faculty of Arts In order to be qualified to commence course of study for degree in the Faculty of Arts in any London college an applicant must have satisfied the general requirements of the University for the procedure to be followed see General Information page 75 by means of subjects selected from the approved list of subjects drawn up by the University and set out in the Regulations Relating to University Entrance Require- ments Moreover two languages other than English must be included at Ordinary or Advanced level Except in the case of degree courses in Geography Mathematics and Philosophy one of these must be classical language These conditions are generally referred to as 'course requirements' Subject Requirements of King's College for direct Entry to Degree Courses in Arts In addition to the above general and course requirements applicants are required to satisfy certain subject requirements before direct entry to particular degree courses in arts details are as follows degree courses Classics passes at Advanced level in Latin and one other subject pass at Ordinary level in Greek English two passes at Advanced level one in English the other in foreign language strong preference will be given to candidates offering Latin or Greek at Advanced level French three subjects at Advanced level will be required of which one must be French Applicants who offer only two subjects at Advanced level will not be considered save in very exceptional circumstances Latin at Advanced level is distinct advantage and preference will normally be given to applicants having this qualification Geography pass at Advanced level in Geography and in two other subjects Applicants who offer only two subjects at Advanced level will not be considered save in very exceptional cases Preference will
