Faculties and Courses of Study 105 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY In order to be qualified to commence course of study in the Faculty of Laws in this College an applicant must have satisfied the general requirements of the University for the procedure to be followed see General Information page 63 by means of subjects selected from the approved list of subjects drawn up by the University and set out in the Regulations Relating to University Entrance Requirements Copies should be available in schools but in case of difficulty copy can be obtained from the Secretary to the University Entrance Requirements Depart- ment University of London Senate House London One of the principal grounds for admission is evidence of high in- tellectual quality which may be in any field Subject to this considera- tion students who intend to read for the Law degree may find it helpful to take History Latin and English among their subjects at the examination for the General Certificate of Education at either Ordinary or Advanced level Postgraduate Courses FOR HIGHER DEGREES AND DIPLOMAS LL candidate may obtain the LL degree by passing at one and the same examination in any of four specified subjects The duration of the course of study is normally two years but candidate for this degree who is graduate in Laws and has obtained first class honours or second class honours upper division may present himself for examination after following an approved course of study for at least one year Internal and external graduates of the University of London and graduates of other universities may be admitted to the course Intend- ing candidates should consult the University Regulations in the Faculty of Laws for Internal Students which can be obtained from the Academic Registrar University of London Senate House London PHIL PH AND LL Intending candidates should refer to the University Regulations as above and consult the Dean of the Faculty candidate for registration for Phil or Ph degrees in Laws
