General Information 79 on Saturdays and Sundays and for breakfast tea and dinner on other days The inclusive charge for single room is £217 session payable in three terminal instalments For shared room the charge is £207 session For conditions of entry regulations etc application should be made to the Dean King's College Strand WC2 King's College Hall Warden Duggan ph In the course of the present session King's College Hall is being greatly extended as result of the generosity of an anonymous benefactor The Hall will reopen in October 1966 with places for 250 men students accommodated for the most part in single study-bedrooms though there will be places available in shared rooms at reduced fee for 16 students The fee for full session of 30 weeks will be £180 for single study-bedroom or £160 for shared room and all fees are payable at the College Office in advance by equal terminal instalments Vacation residence will be charged at proportionate weekly rate The fees include breakfast and dinner on weekdays and breakfast lunch and tea at weekends All study-bedrooms are provided with wash-basins with hot and cold water and all public rooms are centrally heated The Hall stands in pleasant grounds of four acres with lawns and gardens on the higher part of Denmark Hill and can be reached from the College by bus or train in about 30 minutes King's College Hospital is within walking distance of the Hall and places are reserved in Hall for students of the Hospital The new Hall will be well provided with common rooms and other social amenities principal and supplementary common rooms rooms for billiards table-tennis and music library two squash courts and two hard tennis courts in the gardens Applications for admission should be made to the Deputy-Warden King's College Hall Champion Hill London SE5 as early as possible in the year in which the candidate wishes to enter Hall and applicants will be informed in the summer term of the results of their applications Halliday Hall Warden Danielian sc ph Built in 1934 as an hotel and acquired by the College after the war this hall of residence for men was opened in October 1950 At present 133 students from all Faculties at King's can be accommodated The building faces the South Side of Clapham Common and has garden with one hard tennis-court at the back Access to College is by bus or under- ground the single journey taking about 30 minutes The Hall is also on the direct route between the College and the Athletic Ground at Mitcham Three types of room are available Single study-bedrooms with private bathroom and small entrance lobby There are 73 rooms of this type Fee £180 Large study-bedrooms suitable for sharing by two students with private bathroom and lobby There are 20 rooms of this type Fee £155 each person
