Iviii Annual Report of the Delegacy LL by examination Musa Akolawain Υ Ali Benson Cutts Davies Μ Hamid Hirji Matovu Oburu Ε Shibeika Sharma Faculty Notes The experimental course in Principles of French Civil Law was initiated this session as an alternative to Roman Law for the Intermediate LL The course was conducted by Mr Chloros with the help of French Assistant Monsieur -F Prat and was given partly in English and partly in French Dean Tallon of Nancy acted as External Ex- aminer and all those concerned were highly satisfied with the success of the new course which is unique in the United Kingdom It proved an extremely popular choice with students but only those adequately qualified in the French language were admitted to it The general high standard of work in the Faculty was maintained and three First Class degrees were obtained Professor Crane returned from his year in New Zealand in December On his way home he lectured at Tulane Missouri and Illinois and visited the University of Virginia He was elected Dean of the Faculty for 1965 Shortly after his return he was elected to the newly established Chair of Law at Queen Mary College where he will be Dean of the Faculty and Head of the Department with the respon- sibility of establishing new Law Faculty in London He will be greatly missed at King's College where he has made notable contribution Professor Crane acted as Rapporteur for the colloquium on the Legal Regulation of the Use of Land held in Manchester in September 1965 under the auspices of the United Kingdom National Committee on Comparative Law Colonel Draper spent the second and third terms of the session as Visiting Professor of Public International Law at Cairo University He lectured at the Royal Naval War College and Staff College at Greenwich and at the United States War College of which he is civilian consultant He gave course of lectures at the Hague Academy of International Law and was member of the United Kingdom delegation to the twentieth International Red Cross con- ference in Vienna Professor Graveson led the United Kingdom delegation at the tenth session of the Hague Conference of Private International Law in October 1964 where he was also elected President of the Fifth Com- mission On behalf of the British Council he directed course of
