192 Studentships Scholarships Exhibitions Bursaries and Prizes Postgraduate Awards TUTORIAL STUDENTSHIPS for Regulations see page 155 Medals and Prizes TENNANT MEDALS AND PRIZES for Regulations see Faculty of Natural Science page 183 SIEMENS PRIZES These Prizes were founded in 1883 by Sir Charles William Siemens Each Prize consists of books or instruments to the value of £5 The Prizes are open to all full-time students of the Faculty of Engineering who have been placed in the first or second class in the examination in Engi- neering Metallurgy The Prizes will be awarded annually upon the results of the second part of the examination for the Degree or Diploma in Engineering to the two candi- dates who shall have most distinguished themselves in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering respectively WALTER SMITH PRIZES These Prizes were founded in 1919 by members of the Governing Bodies and the Staff of King's College as testimonial to Walter Smith upon his retirement from the office of Secretary of the College which he had held since 1895 The Prizes consist of books or instruments the first to the value of £5 and the second to the value of £2 $s The Prizes are open to full-time students in the Engineering Faculty The First Prize will be awarded upon the results of the second part of the examination for the Degree or Diploma in Engineering to the regular student who shall have most distinguished himself in Civil Engineering The Second Prize will be awarded to the regular student who shall have most distinguished himself in the subjects of the first part of the examination for the Degree or Diploma in Engineering
