180 Studentships Scholarships Exhibitions Bursaries and Prizes distinguished former student of the School and Medical Faculty who sacrificed his life in an attempt to save child who was dying from diphtheria Scholarship of £54 will be offered annually to enable student of the Faculty of Medical Science to read for the Sc degree in the subjects normally taught within that Faculty for the period of four terms required by the degree regulations after successful completion of the Second Medical Examination The recommendations for the award will be based on the work for the Second Medical examination in King's College The payments will be made in four equal instalments provided the Scholar continues in attendance as regular student in the selected course and produces to the Registrar at the end of each term certificate of good conduct and satis- factory progress signed by the Heads of the Departments in which the course is held The Delegacy offers five additional Scholarships each of £54 for four terms on the same terms and conditions as the Rabbeth Scholarship CENTENARY SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES for Regulations see page 155 Postgraduate Awards TUTORIAL STUDENTSHIPS for Regulations see page 155 LAYTON SCIENCE RESEARCH STUDENTSHIP Founded under the will of Charles Edward Layton former Associate and Member of the Council who left sum of money to be devoted to Student- ship or Studentships in order to assist such students as may in the opinion of the Principal after consultation with the Professorial staff give the best promise of aptitude and genius for original scientific work Studentship of £625 year with free tuition will be offered annually payable in equal instalments at the beginning of each term Any student of the College is eligible for Studentship who has attended for at least six terms regular course for first degree or for corresponding academic qualification of the College The Principal shall request the Head of each Department in the Faculties of Natural Science Medical Science and Engineering to report on any student in his Department whom he may desire to recommend for the Studentship The Head of the Department shah furnish and report on the career and qualifi- cations of the candidate recommended and the kind of research proposed
