88 General Information Commonwealth Hall Warden Duckworth ph An intercollegiate hall of residence for about 400 men students Individual study-bedrooms Fees about £180 session payable in three terminal instal- ments Selection is made after consideration of the individual student's needs and his ability to benefit from and contribute to life in residential com- munity Applications to the Warden Commonwealth Hall Cartwright Gardens WC1 Connaught Hall Warden Professor Lang litt An intercollegiate hall of residence for men students Study-bedrooms provided for 195 residents Fees £180 per session include part board Applications may be obtained from the Warden Connaught Hall of Residence 36-45 Tavistock Square WC1 and returned to him before 31st May International Hall Warden Rowe-Evans An intercollegiate hall of residence for 270 men students Fees £165 to £180 session payable in three terminal instalments Applications to the Warden International Hall Brunswick Square WC1 by 31st May for admis- sion the following October LODGINGS Lodgings Officer Mrs Muriel Tabert The University of London Lodgings Bureau Malet St London WC1 MUSeum 2818 issues leaflets with the names and addresses of the above and other halls Students who need lodgings are also invited to consult the Bureau which acts in purely advisory capacity All addresses on the Register which covers most London districts are visited and carefully classified Every effort is made to meet the requirements of each student but owing to the great demand for rooms in London it is not possible to guarantee that the exact type of accommodation desired can be provided Unfurnished rooms are outside the province of the Bureau The Lodgings Officer prefers to see students during term time but from July to October they should apply by post when every effort will be made to provide an address at which there is suitable vacancy Interview hours are between 10 30 and noon and from 30 to Saturday afternoons excepted It is necessary to make an appointment well in advance
