82 General Information studies the theological collection of the Rev Professor Η Relton the Portuguese library of Professor Prestage the historical books of Professor Hearnshaw the books on French literature of Pro- fessor Louis Brandin the classical and patristic collection of Professor Alexander Souter together with his papers and the classical library of Professor Enk purchased with the help of generous grant from the Nuffield Foundation Centre for Military Archives The Centre for Military Archives serves as depository for papers bearing on Britain's defence policy since 1900 and her strategy in the two world wars which are still in private hands The Centre forms part of the College Library and is administered under the supervision of body of Trustees set up by the University Library Rules Admission to the Library The following persons shall be entitled to be admitted to the Library to read and borrow members of the Council or the Delegacy for the time being Fellows of the College members of the academic staff of the College senior members of the administrative and library staffs of the College regular students of the College The following persons may be admitted to the Library to read and borrow on making application to the Librarian junior members of the administra- tive and library staffs members of the technical and maintenance staffs of the College on the written recommendation of the heads of their departments The following persons may be admitted to read and borrow on applica- tion to the Librarian the privilege of borrowing being limited in each case to books in their subjects of study in the College occasional students of the College except that those who have not paid the appropriate Library fee one guinea per session 105 6iper term are admitted to read only students of other Schools of the University in faculties other than Laws attending inter- collegiate lectures in the College Students of other Schools of the University in the Faculty of Laws may be admitted to read in the Library on application to the Librarian Other fit persons may be admitted to read and consult books in the Library at the discretion of the Librarian and on production of satisfactory recom- mendation In special cases they may also be granted the privilege of borrowing from the Library under such conditions as the Library Committee may deter- mine Discipline All persons using the Library shall be subject to the discipline of the Col- lege Any grave or continued breach of these rules will be reported by the Librarian to the Principal or in the case of Theological student to the Dean
