Annual Report of the Delegacy xlix DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY General Honours Postgraduate Occasional Number of Students Total First Degrees Honours 2nd Class Upper Division rd Class 36 Departmental Notes Professor Findlay attended the thirteenth international Congress of Phdosophy at Mexico City in September 1963 as official repre- sentative of the University of London and read paper entitled Free- dom and Value He taught as Visiting Professor at the University of Texas in July-August 1963 In January 1964 he visited Hungary sponsored by the British Academy and the British Council and gave two lectures at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences one on Con- temporary British Philosophy' in English and one in German on 'Hegel der Realist The former lecture is to be translated and appear in the Annals of the Hungarian Academy In July-August 1964 Pro- fessor Findlay attended the fourth East-West Phdosophers' Conference at the University of Hawaii and lectured at the University of Kyoto Japan in September In March he read paper on 'Religious Anti- nomies' at colloquium on the Phdosophy of Religion held at Oriel College Oxford Mr Vesey read paper entitled 'An antinomy of the will' to the Cambridge Moral Science Club in November Dr Ashby gave course of four lectures on 'Phdosophy and Science' at the School of Pharmacy in December Professor Silber Head of the Department of Phdosophy at the University of Texas spent the session in London as Guggenheim Re- search Fellow He was attached to King's College and read papers to the Aristotelian Society the Royal Institute of Phdosophy and the London University Phdosophy Group
