xl Annual Report Departmental Notes series of four lectures at Sion College on 'The New Testament Today' was arranged by the department and Professor Nineham and Miss Hooker each contributed one lecture to the course DEPARTMENT OF ECCLESIASTICAL HISTORY There were four postgraduate students three reading for the Ph degree and one for the degree Thirty-five Honours History students attended undergraduate lectures in Ecclesiastical History Professor Dugmore dehvered his Presidential Address to the Ecclesiastical History Society on 'The study of the origins of the Eucharist retrospect and revaluation' at the summer meeting of the Society held at Peterhouse Cambridge He preached the sermon on the Feast Day of the Foundress St Etheldreda at Ely Cathedral Dr Collinson gave course of lectures on the Reformation organ- ised by the Oxford University Extra-Mural Department for Canter- bury Workers' Educational Association and he lectured on Queen Mary at the National Portrait Gallery He read paper to the Huguenot Society of London on The Elizabethan Puritans and the foreign Reformed Churches in London' and he read communication at the summer meeting of the Ecclesiastical History Society held at Peterhouse Cambridge on 'The role of women in the English Reformation illustrated by the fife and friendships of Anne Locke DEPARTMENT OF THE HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY OF RELIGION Ph Drummond 'The philosophy of Campbell During the session there were five students engaged on research work Professor Lewis gave his Presidential Address to the Aristo- telian Society in October 1962 on 'Mind and Body He also gave the Cadbury Lectures at the University of Birmingham and the final course in the series of Wilde Lectures which he has been giving at Oxford since 1960 He lectured at the University of Nottingham and preached the Commemoration sermon at the Hartley Victoria Methodist College Manchester During the Easter vacation he visited the Centre for the study of World Religions at Harvard and lectured at the Divinity School there and at Yale
