xxxii Annual Report Professor Norman also lectured to the Arbeitsgcmcinschaft fur Forschung in Dusscldorf in March 1963 and at the University of Vienna in June He was member of the Anglo-Austrian Mixed Cultural Commission which met in Vienna in April and he attended the Spring meeting in Ulm of the Deutsche Akademie fur Sprache und Dichtung of which he is corresponding member Dr Middleton lectured on Dada and Politics at the Royal College of Art and to the Cambridge University Arts Society In July 1963 he lectured on contemporary English poets at the Free University of Ber- lin He also gave three talks "Iraki Brecht and Now on the BBC Third Programme and wrote the text for the Monitor programme on George Grosz on July 7th 1963 Mr Sasse lectured under the auspices of the Buckinghamshire Education Committee at weekend course on German literature at Great Missenden in February 1963 Performances of Die Gewehre der Frau Carrar by Bertolt Brecht and of Der Grosse Hut des Philipp Hotz by Max Frisch were given by King's College German Society at Queen Mary College in March 1963 Eleven students intercalated year teaching and studying at German or Austrian schools and universities department of history Number of Students General and Subsidiary 25 Honours 87 Postgraduate of whom 11 are reading Imperial History 21 Total 133 First Degrees Honours 1st Class 2nd Class Upper Division 12 2nd Class Lower Division 14 3rd Class Higher Degree Ph Metcalf 'British Administration in Jamaica 1729-1783
