116 Faculties and Courses of Study At present combinations of subjects involving Biology Botany Physiology or Zoology cannot be provided For further information the separate brochure issued for the General degree should be consulted CONDITIONS OF ENTRY sc special degree course For entry to the following Special Degree courses candidates will be required to have passed at Advanced level in General Certificate examination or at main standard in Higher School Certificate in the subjects indicated below Mathematics Pure Mathematics Applied Mathematics and another Science subject preferably Physics Candidates selected for interview will be given an oral test Physics Physics Pure Mathematics Applied Mathematics together with Chemistry at either Advanced or Ordinary level or ii Physics Chemistry Pure Mathematics together with Applied Mathc- matics at either Advanced or Ordinary level or iii Physics Chemistry Mathematics Pure and Applied Chemistry Chemistry Physics and either Mathematics Pure and Applied or Pure Mathematics Candidates who have passed only in Pure Mathematics will be required to produce evidence of satis- factory knowledge of Applied Mathematics more particularly Dynamics An entrance test will be held in February 1965 those required to take it will be informed Geology Any three Science subjects included in the list of subjects for entry to the Sc General degree course Geography Any three Science subjects included in the list of subjects for entry to the Sc General degree course Botany Botany or Biology Chemistry and one of Mathematics or Physics or Zoology Zoology may not be taken with Biology Candidates may also be required to take an entrance test Zoology Three Science subjects chosen from the list of subjects for entry to the Sc General degree course Candidates are advised to offer Physics Chemistry and either Zoology or Biology Candi- dates may also be required to take an entrance test All candidates selected for this test will be officially notified by the Sub-Dean or the Tutor to Women Students of the day and time when they should attend
