PRIZES-ENGINEERING 95 The First Prize will be awarded upon the results of the second part of the Examination for the Degree or Diploma in Engineering to the regular student who shall have most distinguished himself in Civil Engineering The Second Prize will be awarded to the regular student who shall have most distinguished himself in the subjects of the first part of the Examination for the Degree or Diploma in Engineering JAMESON PRIZE This Prize was founded in 1935 by Alexander Hope Jameson Sc Inst Inst Water Professor of Civil Engineering in the College from 1912 to 1935 The Prize consists of books and or instruments of value Ā£1 10a The Prize is awarded on the results of Part of the Sc Eng examination ENGINEERING SOCIETY CENTENARY PRIZES These Prizes were founded as the result of an appeal to commemorate the Centenary of the King's College Engineering Society in 1947 The fund was established by contributions from members of the Old Students' Association Engineering Branch now the King's College London Engineers' Association with generous donations from Sir Harry Railing and Mr Brierley The Prizes consist of books or instruments to value to be deter- mined annually One or more Prizes may be awarded each year to the student or students who shall have shown most distinction at the Part III examination after three sessions as regular students of the Faculty of Engineering BLOY PRIZE FOR RESEARCH IN POWDER SCIENCE This prize was founded in 1961 by Mr Bloy the father of former student The prize is to the value of twenty guineas and is available for award annually to the research student working within the field of Powder Science who shows evidence of outstanding all-round perform- ance during the tenure of his Research Studentship The prize is awarded upon the basis of written paper 2500-5000 words dealing with some approved topic within the field of Powder Science or Technology
