OF THE COUNCIL xiii Gifts of books from the libraries of the Right Reverend Mont- gomery Campbell and the late Reverend Hollis have been greatly appreciated The College Library has received further substantial gift in the collection of 560 items on theology and ecclesi- astical history presented by the executors of the late Harold King theological student Mr Aaron Krolenbaum has generously presented copy of the rare Nuremberg Polyglot New Testament of 1602-03 New flood-lights have been placed in the College Chapel as result of generous gift from Dr Bilbey Finance Income Income and Expenditure Account The income from fees amounted to £10 352 Expenditure on the salaries of the teaching staff was less than last year because Professor Tasker's successor was not appointed during the year Departmental expenses were also slightly lower than in 1960-61 but more was spent on bursaries to students Repairs and decorations cost more than last year but the amount expended on furniture was less As consequence the year's working showed surplus of £3 064 com- pared with surplus of £2 091 in 1960-61 Corporation General Fund Account Income was received from the usual sources and after meeting ex- penses the account showed surplus of £1 274 which will be transferred to the Special Reserve Fund King's College Hostel On 31st July 1961 net surplus of £743 was carried forward During 1961-62 vacation lettings brought in £2 674 compared with £2 822 last year The total income for 1961-62 was £14 082 last year it was £14 270 Expenditure was £14 915 compared with £14 082 last year Wages of the staff have been raised and the cost of Repairs and Decorations has exceeded the annual provision of £1 200 by £225 which brings the Repairs and Decorations accumulated deficit to £758 The year's work- ing has shown deficit of £833 compared with surplus of £188 last year The net deficit carried forward at 31st July 1962 was £316 King's College at St Boniface College Warminster On 31st July 1961 an accumulated surplus of £4 037 was carried forward During the present year the total income amounted to £13 425 com- pared with £13 263 in 1960-61 Expenditure for the current year was
