viii ANNUAL REPORT Faculty of Laws from 1922 to 1925 Dr Smith was for many years treasurer of the Old Students' Association He was awarded his for assistance in the evacuation of the British Army from Dunkirk in 1940 Former Staff Dr Foster Reader in Chemistry at Royal Holloway College and Secretary of the Board of Studies in Chemistry on May 25th 1962 Dr Foster was Demonstrator in Chemistry at King's College from January 1935 to 1939 Professor Harlow Beit Professor of the History of the British Commonwealth at the University of Oxford on December 7th 1961 Professor Harlow was Rhodes Professor of Imperial History at King's College from 1938 to 1948 with break from 1939 to 1946 when he was Deputy Director of the Empire Division of the Ministry of Information Mr Mackinnon Ch on May 4th 1962 Mr Mackinnon was first appointed to the staff of the Anatomy department at King's College in 1940 and at the time of his death was Senior Lecturer in that department Former Students Mr Hugh Arnold who had just completed his first year in the Faculty of Engineering was killed in climbing accident in Italy on August 30th 1962 Mr Hillman Assistant Commissioner for Crown Lands died in June 1961 He was student in the Faculty of Laws from 1922 to 1927 Professor O'Donoghue Professor of Zoology in the University of Reading from 1939 to 1952 died on November 28th 1961 He obtained his Sc degree from King's College in 1908 Mrs Dudley Stamp nee Elsa Rea died on July 30th 1962 She obtained her degree in Geography from this College in 1921 FELLOWS The following were appointed Fellows of the College Dr Kenneth Dike PhD formerly Professor of History now first Nigerian Principal of University College Ibadan graduate of the University of Durham Dr Dike obtained an with Honours in History from the University of Aberdeen before working at King's College under Professor Harlow and Professor Graham for the Ph degree which he obtained in 1950 Professor Graveson Ph Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Laws of King's College since 1947 He was an Assistant Lecturer in the Faculty 1938-1945 Mr Triloki Nath Kaul LL Acting High Commissioner for
