217 CONDITIONS TO BE FULFILLED FOR THE AWARD OF THE COLLEGE POST-GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN POWDER TECHNOLOGY The Post-Graduate Diploma in Powder Technology is awarded by the Delegacy of King's College on the recommendation of the Faculty of Engineering Examinations for the Diploma are held once year in the month of June The conditions to be fulfilled for the granting of the Diploma are as follows Before admission to the course the candidate shall hold degree or an acceptable equivalent qualification in Engineering Physics Chemistry or other approved branch of Applied Science candidate for the Diploma must have pursued to the satisfac- tion of the Faculty of Engineering the course of study in Powder Technology as Regular Student within the Faculty of Engi- neering for not less than three terms The candidate shall pass the examination which consists of the following papers General Engineering Two papers Properties of Powders Two papers Powder Technology One paper The candidate shall pass the examination in Coursework The examination in Coursework will cover Designs Laboratory reports Practical work and any other specified project SYLLABUS OF CLASSES Materials and Structures Elasticity Torsion Bending Thick and thin cylinders Fatigue Design and Construction Elements of machine design Design and construction of powder processing machinery Heat Transfer Elements of heat transfer Heat transfer to stationary and fluidized beds Heat transfer between clouds of particles Control Systems and Applications Characteristics of motors control systems and control devices
