184 FACULTY OF ENGINEERING COURSES OF STUDY APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION Applicants from the United Kingdom seeking admission to the under- graduate courses are advised to consult the booklet Getting into Univer- sity issued to schools and others by the Universities Central Council on Admissions 29 Tavistock Square London Application forms will be available in schools from the beginning of the autumn term 1963 One form will suffice for all the universities and colleges served by this Council and must be returned completed to the Council before Decern- ber 31st Only applicants who have left school should write to the Central Office for form The form will be accompanied by full in- structions for completing it All subsequent correspondence with the College concerning entry should be sent direct to the Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in the case of men and to the Tutor to Women Students in the case of women and should clearly indicate the appli- cant's serial number and any course or courses for which application has been made Overseas applicants should in 1963-64 continue to apply to the universities and colleges of their choice either direct or through the offices of the High Commissioner Embassy or Consulate according to current arrangements The attention of students is called to the General College Rules for which see Table of Contents VACATION WORK Students are expected to spend at least one half of each of their two summer vacations in engineering works The College will assist them as far as possible in obtaining such experience which will be found most valuable in their College work RESEARCH AND POSTGRADUATE STUDY Enquiries regarding facilities for research or postgraduate study should be addressed to the Head of the Department concerned See III I-COURSES FOR THE Sc ENGINEERING DEGREE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF LONDON Conditions or Entry Before entering the Faculty to study for the Degree in Engineering it is necessary to be eligible for registration in the University of London and to have satisfied the requirements set out in Section of the Univer- sity Regulations below The College will in addition expect to receive evidence of good general education The procedure to be followed with regard to entrance and registra-
