132 FACULTY OF LAWS candidate may obtain the Academic Postgraduate Diploma in Law either by passing at one and the same examination in three subjects one from each of the groups enumerated below English Legal Method or with the permission of the Uni- versity one of the subjects for the time being which can be offered for the Master of Laws degree examination II One of the following- General Principles of the Law of Contract and Tort General Principles of Equity Elements of British Public Law III One of the following- General Principles of the Law of Contract and Tort General Principles of Equity Elements of British Public Law Conflict of Laws Comparative Law Muhammadan Law Hindu Law International Economic Law Law of International Institutions Shipping Law No candidate shall be entitled to select subject from Group III which he has also selected from Group II No candidate shall be entitled to take the examination in Shipping Law unless he also takes the examina- tion in General Principles of the Law of Contract and Tort In each examination subject the examination shall consist of one three- hour paper The examiners may in addition if they see fit examine any candidate orally or by submitting dissertation which must be written in English and must afford evidence of serious study by the candidate and of his ability to discuss difficult problem critically The sub- ject of the dissertation must be submitted for the approval of the University not later than 15th April for the next ensuing examination IV-Ph AND LL Intending candidates should consult the University Regulations and the Dean of the Faculty
