FACULTY OF LAWS 123 History Latin French and English among their subjects at the examina- tion for the General Certificate of Education at either Ο or Α 'י level It is important that candidates for the examinations of the Univer- 3ity of London should make themselves thoroughly acquainted with the Regulations of the University regarding registration attendance at recognised courses filling in schedules payment of examination fees and other matters Copies of the Regulations may be obtained from the Academic Registrar University of London Senate House London Π-For Diploma and Higher Degree Courses All applications should be made whenever possible in the session before the one in which the applicant wishes to begin studying and in every case as early as possible Ill-For the Academic Postgraduate Diploma in Law The University grants an Academic Postgraduate Diploma in Law to graduates of London and other approved universities who have attended course of study in the University of London extending over not less than one year and have passed the prescribed examination Before admission to the course applicants must submit for approval by the University evidence of their qualifications which should include preliminary training in law and an adequate knowledge of English IV- For the LL Degree An applicant for admission to the College as an internal student for the LL degree must be an internal graduate in Laws of the University of London or be an external graduate in Laws of the University of London or have passed an equivalent degree examination in another uni- versity and have been registered under the University Regulations for Post- graduate Students proceeding to Higher degree V- For the Ph Degree candidate for registration for the Ph degree in Laws must have previously obtained the LL degree with first class honours or the LL degree of the University of London or an equivalent degree of another University The minimum period of study is two years VI- For the LL Degree candidate for the LL degree must have previously obtained the LL or the Ph degree in the Faculty of Laws as an Internal Student Nevertheless candidate who has obtained the LL degree as an Internal Student may in exceptional circumstances be exempted from this requirement on the ground of published work Candidates must submit published papers or books constituting an original contribution to the advancement of legal knowledge
